The Peninsula Beverly Hills’ The Belvedere restaurant and executive chef Sean Hardy welcome Angelo Maria Franchini, executive chef of Italian olive oil producer Monini, for ‘Olio di Oliva,’ an evening of all things olive oil. Chef Franchini will present a five-course dinner featuring dishes like marinated beef carpaccio with extra virgin olive oil and laurel, aromatic chick pea soup with grilled scallops, and boneless leg of lamb with fresh herbs ‘old style’ with roasted potatoes. The meal will be accompanied by the following wines: Esperto, Pinot Grigio, Veneto, Italy, 2006; Bertani, Amarone, Valpolicella, Italy, 2002; and Fattoria Di Pancole, Vin Santo, Italy, 2004, which is a dessert wine made from white Malvasia grapes. The event will be held from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. and the cost is $125 per person (includes dinner, wine pairings, and gift bag). For reservations, call 310-551-2888.
