Ramze Zakka helps raise $7K for breast cancer research GREENWICH, CONN. — The Ramze Zakka Restaurant Group, which operates in Westchester County, N.Y., and Fairfield County, Conn.,teamed up with The Breast Cancer Alliance, based here, to raise $7,000 for breast cancer research through its “Taste for Health” event. The event highlighted the health benefits of the Mediterranean diet through a menu promotion at Ramze Zakka’s five restaurants. Tables at each restaurant featured menu cards that promoted Mediterranean items, which have been noted for their cancer-fighting properties. Mediterranean cuisine boasts a high level of omega- 3 fatty acids, which are found in fish, extra-virgin olive oil, and a wide variety of fruits and vegetables.

Participating restaurants included Terra and Mediterraneo, both of which are located here; Acqua in Westport, Conn.; Solé in New Canaan, Conn.; and Aurora in Rye, N.Y.

Co-sponsors included Albert DeAngelis, executive chef of the Ramze Zakka Restaurant Group; Marco Petrini, president of Monini North America, an importer and distributor of specialty olive oil; and Dr. Barry Boyd, director of integrated medicine at Greenwich Hospital.
