| From
Umbria to Australia and back to Umbria
for "il Primissimo" Monini
It was only eight years ago that the small Umbrian
olive trees of Frantoio, Leccino and Pendolino
were shipped and planted in the florid area of
Hillston, in the New South West region of Australia.
Monini decided to bring these unique tree varietals
to such a far area in the Southern hemisphere
to produce and monitor oils obtained from a very
different combination of soil/climate/tree compared
to our own Umbrian region. The result is the “Il
Primissimo” Extra Virgin Olive Oil, with
its first distribution in the US market after
the 2011 harvesting that took place in April-May.
