Then, there are some numbers corresponding to the hour and minute of bottling.

If the expiry date on the label is approaching, can I use the product?
Yes! Consider that if our product is close to the expiry date, it must have been bottled almost 12 months ago and most likely its sensorial characteristics will have weakened. For a person used to a strong flavour, oil with an approaching expiry date might taste slightly sweet and mellow.

Below the expiry date there is a time indicated: what is it for?
If you receive complaints from customers, the time of production enables us to trace the identity of the worker responsible for the bottling line that day, the controls he/she carried out, the lot corresponding to the bottle, the cap, the label, etc. This is useful to fully satisfy all the expectations of our devoted consumers.

Why are some products bottled in dark glass and others not?
Direct or indirect sunlight and also the light of the most common lamps is the real enemy in the correct conservation of Extra Virgin olive oil.
Many producers have to decide whether provide a dark glass bottle to guarantee the optimal protection or satisfy consumer who wishes to see the colour of oil in the bottle. We decided to bottle the more delicate products (Amabile, Fruttato) in UV grade glass, a particular dark glass fitted to filter the majority of the sunlight while the other products are bottled in common glass which can, in any case, filter a part of the sunlight.
However, we invite you to keep any food products (and not only olive oil) away from direct light or even better, in the dark and particularly cool environment. It is very important to keep the bottle well closed to protect it against the oxygen in the air.

Glass looks cloudy: why?
The bottles used for oil are perfectly clean because they arrive from the glass factory thoroughly packaged and are not recycled.
In any case, glass can release certain salt substances as time goes by (which are absolutely not harmful) but can give an opaque coating to the bottle.
The same phenomenon occurs with any older glass bottle used to preserve a product at home.

It is difficult to open the cap with capsule (sleever)
The current opening system was designed to be more convenient and safe. It is fitted with a metal cap (which better complies with the European standards) and a PVC capsule (or sleever) with an opening strip (the so-called “easy open”).
At times, it can happen that we do not realize there is a strip on the sleever to pull before opening the cap which lies underneath because we were used to the former bottles with the plastic cap.
In case the problem is different, please let us know and send us the defective bottle so we can check the problem and find an immediate solution.
