Monini Extra Virgin Olive Oil Sponsors Events and Feeds Athletes

The health benefits of Extra Virgin Olive Oil are underscored by Monini’s sponsorship of two leading area athletic events.
In August, Monini Extra Virgin Olive Oil will be sponsoring the 2004 Pilot Pen Tennis tournament.

Monini Extra Virgin Olive Oil will be among the sponsors of the Pilot Pen Tennis tournament, returning to New Haven, CT this August. This internationally recognized tournament is played at the Connecticut Tennis Center at Yale University and is the preceding WTA tournament to the US Open. It has been one of the major stops on the worldwide WTA tour since 1988. Past champions include Steffi Graf, Monica Seles, Martina Navratilova, Lindsay Davenport, and Venus Williams. The tournament begins August 20 with a qualifying draw including 50 athletes and ends on August 28. Monini’s six foot olive mascot, Oliver, will be present for Kid’s Day on August 22 as well as during the final days of the event.

By special arrangement, Monini Extra Virgin Olive Oil also will be served to the participating athletes during the weeklong tournament. Studies have shown that extra virgin olive oil contributes to a healthy digestive system, is excellent for brain activity and bone mineralization, and reduces the rate of cardiovascular illness by lowering cholesterol levels.
